For visitors from the USA, the easiest trip will likely start with a flight into Heathrow Airport. From there you have quite a few options - there is a direct coach from Heathrow to Oxford (https://www.theairlineoxford.co.uk/oxford-to-heathrow-bus/), rental cars are easily available if you'd prefer (https://www.heathrow.com/transport-and-directions/by-car/renting-a-car#/searchcars), or you could take the train (with careful navigation, probably a 1.5h trip)!
The University Church of St. Mary the Virgin is ever so slightly east of Oxford center. Taxi services are available around Oxford (there is a taxi line outside the train station for those commuting in).

Generally you can find good lodgings via Bookings.com or AirBnb
There are a *ton* of hotels around central Oxford, so you have plenty of choice if you want to stay near the historic centre. It's worth noting that August is prime tourist season, so we wouldn't wait too long to book these lodgings!
The reception venue where our event ends is located in a borough of Oxford called Sandford-on-Thames. Our venue is, itself, a hotel (guests get a discount staying over!) but there are cheaper options in the surrounding boroughs if you'd like to lodge nearby!
This is our reception venue! All our guests are offered a discounted rate of 170 GBP/night with parking/breakfast/cancellation included.
To use the discount rate, contact their reservations team via phone ( +44 01865 334486 ) or email ( ThamesReservations@ihg.com ).
Alternatively we can help you make bookings with them if thats easier!
Alternatively, the trip from London directly to Oxford is not so bad! You could choose to stay at the hotels around Paddington Station, and take one of the many morning trains to Oxford (note: Oxford train station is a 25min walk west from the church, when you don't get lost).
